In Bradford there are lots of businesses, but who knew that YOU can also be an esteemed business entrepreneur and make your very own business? ... And you’re not even a grown up yet!

Have you ever wanted your very own chocolate company so you can sell and eat as many chocolates as you like….?

Well you can with the new Chocolate Box scheme that has been going on in many Bradford Schools, including Cottingley Primary. This project helps you improve your teamwork skills, maths, and literacy. Your business briefing is to decide which is the cheapest way to get your chocolates to the customers and you get to decide how much to sell your chocolates for! You also have to design your own television advert to present to your class with a poster! Then there is a panel of judges that decide which is the best business and if you win you get your own box of really yummy chocolates to eat! So grab your Toffee Twizzlers and your Choco Chunks and let’s get selling!

Don’t really want to sell chocolates? Well with the Enterprise Angels scheme you can sell anything you like and make real money, to give to a charity or even help with school funding! Many schools in Bradford, including Shibden Head Primary have done the project and enjoyed it thoroughly; here Education Bradford interviewed five business project managers, Jodie, Jonathan, Millie, Kayan and Grace and they were only in year 5! They made their business and presented it to a panel of judges who invested in their products. They sold their products and even made a profit! The Enterprise Angels Scheme helped the children develop their business skills, teamwork and confidence. It even encouraged them to get into business when they are older!

So if you’re interested in Business or you want to get involved in these schemes then tell your teacher to get in touch with your local Education Business Partnership and you’ll be on your way to being a business entrepreneur!
